The Commandery’s Discussion Group concluded its review of the “South China Sea” at Snohomish County Makers meeting space in Everett, WA on 15 April. In attendance were Companions John Laible, Harry Stengele, Janine Whitaker, Mark Thompson, Joe Valenta, Mike Graff, Floyd Kershner, John Gerten, Jim Wold, Solon Webb (on Skype) and Alex Sallander (by phone)
In these two photos, Janine Whitaker (above) and John Gerten (below) took turns being the “official photographer” for a group photo of those physically present. Many thanks to you both!
With distant connections to Solon Webb (Portland) and Alex Sallander (Spokane), the group (below) covered in depth the current maritime issues of the South China Sea. Discussion leader Joe Valenta provided attendees with an excellent email summary of the session.
Companion Solon Webb is shown below participating with the group via Skype.
The next Discussion Group topic is “Redesign of the US Navy Fleet” and will have its first meeting at our Commander’s home, John Laible, in Woodinville, WA from 3-6 pm on 22 June. For any NOUS Northwest Companions interested in more information, contact Joe Valenta for pre-reading, etc.
Many thanks to Companion John Gerten for providing all photos for this posting.
