At a meeting yesterday at Ray’s Boathouse in Seattle, overlooking the Sound with a blue sky overhead, Commander Joe Valenta and companions welcomed two new members to NOUS Northwest: ENS Alex Sallander, USN, and Mark Thompson. Former CNO, ADM Tom Hayward, provided an appropriate beginning to the sharing of our naval experiences, followed by everyone supplying some of their stories. 
The meeting also included a review of the high points planned for the fall. Everyone enjoyed the hospitality and seafood at Ray’s Boathouse, perfect for the view. Also, last week we welcomed a third new member, CAPT Richard Griffin, who just transferred from the Capitol Commandery, but wasn’t able to join us. And Harry Stengele, our Recorder was on vacation, so we missed him! This brings our membership to 27, and growing…
