“A Place Setting For One, A Table For All”

Upon entering the All American Restaurant at Naval Station, Everett, the first display one sees is the POW/MIA table, “a place setting for one, a table for all.”  This somber display was a clear reminder for visiting NOUS Northwest companions, family and friends of the price that many have ultimately paid in serving our country.  The videos shown of the Battle of Midway, an event 75 years ago this month, further provided a well-documented memorial of the dangers that our maritime service men and women potentially face today in carrying out their sworn missions.

The Naval History and Heritage Command provides an excellent article on the history of the POW/MIA table as well as a description of the items to be found on the table and what they represent.  You can access the article by clicking here.
